Dear friends of Football Federations, Medias, dear fans,
The task of Nf Board, since its birth was that of being simply humanitarian and it keeps on being that. Its starting task was that of succeeding in organising football matches among unconsidered teams put apart from the system having been into existence since then.
From that point of view, the challenge was won. Everybody know it !
This way matches and tournaments multiplied during last months just before the main expected event called VIVA World Cup 2006.
FIFI Wild Cup from St.Pauli (Hamburg) was a worldwide television success. A real success for Norther Cyprus Government too, which was able that time and in that event (and after Monaco’s hard stop) to be invited by a German Minister.
Already in 2005, Northern Cyprus’ tournament had been played, as well as eventual UNPO Cup.
ELF Cup, was just build-up instead in some weeks, but it was actually a simple fruit of an adulteration lasting for several months. It’s a pure consequence of previous and deeper work on subject, done by N.F.-Board (just to be told…)
The other task of N.F.-Board is that to organise unconsidered nations’ footballworld and to plan some rules on a worldwide scale in order to keep a simply but total World acknowledgement also for any Federation which one day could even join in FIFA, for instance. We have got already a least of « diplomatic » relationship with FIFA just to this task.
When some asking us for sanctions to be taken against Northern Cyprus’ Federation, we’re used to reply that it’s not NFBoard philosophy at all.
Northern Cyprus’ Federation, which we helped a lot to come out from a thirty years’ isolation and whose National team was able to gain brilliant respect and showed talent on pitch, is clearly ambitious. But it looks as clearly utilized for political purposes by its Government.
It is not able, the same as we cannot too, to fight on a local scale against its Government’ pressings. And it’s not in our philosophy to ban another time this FA and sentence its players and staffs to a new isolation.
When some tell we were utilized (our Hand-Book, our contacts…), we reply it’s right, but it’s also the risk outcoming from our way of ruling. Then, everyone must be aware of its own moral sense even considering that ELF Cup could be played either a bit earlier or after VIVA World Cup 2006. Northern Cyprus’ Government (elected, one has to stress, after VIVA World Cup’s attribution), wanted to act by its own and totally manage Elf Cup’ sponsoring and it suddenly came out during last weeks as a wizard’s ability to catch a dove from a hat ! I’ve got to remind that Northern Cyprus’ Federation had instead formerly written several times in its latest releases that Government was unable to sponsorize Viva World Cup 2006 due to high costs of recent elections and that FA itself did not own any sponsor. It’s a curious turmoil of the situation made from people who finally acted as « pirates » just to avoid worse definitions !
We have just one interest, the one of our members. In the same way we make efforts to save and protect the tasks of non-members which are regrouped into so-called “NFBoard Potential”. As for them, we do hope one day they will join us under the principle of freedom and equality which we defend.
Further to this, we are trying to play our VIVA World Cup 2006 which stays as symbolical ! With participation of all who will want to and above all who will be able to!
Venue will be announced within few days. Everybody will have to prepare to come and to organise their stay, support themselves, except in case of providential sponsoring... Thanks to “politicians” of Northern Cyprus who displayed a nice picture of their country, which would have deserved instead much more, as for me !
We’ve been working so hard since months all on voluntary basis, as fans, supporters and totally self-financed. The challenge is unfair and unbalanced, budgetless, without « marketing knowledge » and face to a Government which is just greedy of an international acknowledgement at every cost, even and above all acting by betraying (the simpler and better-known way).
Lesson we learnt was that we will relay on a well-known Marketing enterprise’ facilities, which have already got in touch with since some days. VIVA World Cup will live, and those of 2008 et 2010 will be organised by a financial support and a deep preparation. There are already projects by Région Toscane, by The Hague or yet by Banlieue Parisienne in its mythic stadiums, which will be regarded from September.
We shall have also need of a couple of “permanents” waged by sponsors in order to make more “professional” our trade-mark. Some contacts with international institutions (ONU, UNESCO, Parlement Européen, Commission des Régions…) are already on the go.
We do believe in it, because our action is beautiful ! It will certainly be even better with you !
But just one thing is for sure: We’ll never withdraw !

NB, Some historical notes :
Sport’ and big institutions’ history have teached that in the past all big events have borned by pain : IRB (Rugby Union) needed of time before finding the right rules for the Rugby World Cup. RLIF (Rugby League) is fighting after years for next edition of its world tournament. The IFAF (American Football) longly delayed its running. Also the powerful FIFA had formerly to cancel, then delayed for times its second edition of World Club Championship…
Then, we are so small, but by our nice and big project we would never feel ashamed, especially after what we were forced to undergo, and will effort to make our competition even better than planned earlier.
